Piero's current location was opened in 2001. Piero and his wife Sara had been traveling the world in a pursuit of passion for the arts. Piero had his own art gallery while Sara had been practicing photography. In 2000 they began to plan for a new restaurant which would also serve as an art gallery.
Piero found the current establishment and began to completely renovate from the inside out. With help from Paul Hoelscher, a friend of the family, a 6 month process began which included extensive customization and craftsmanship. Paul designed the interior and built it with influence from Piero. The floor was designed by Piero himself and took two weeks to complete. He created the initial design for the floor and this was translated into a multi-colored tile design that includes over 1500 pieces of custom cut tiles. The pieces were cut in individual shapes with band saws in order to insure they were accurately placed into a predestined pattern.
The next focus of the renovation process was the lighting. Not satisfied with commercial track lighting, Piero began to experiment and create custom cable lighting for the restaurant. Using a custom transformer system, steel cables, and copper tubing, they began to create a beautiful lighting scheme for the restaurant. Once completed, the system was completely custom in its design and is also adaptable to change. The kitchen bar was created by Steve Treadway and was hand made from solid sheets of copper.
When everything finally came together, Piero and his family were ready to open the doors to the public. In 2001, they flipped the open sign and posted their hours while providing Jonesboro with a much needed venue for entertainment, food, and fun.
